Loader Standard Operating Procedures

The loader runs on the Loader Workstation.

  • Log in to the Loader Workstation
  • Collect the 101requestor.dat file from glue2.uits.uconn.edu:
    • Launch FileZilla
    • Locate the glue2 configuration from the site manager menu icon.  This logs you in to glue2.  You will be in the /home/famis/frs/101requestor directory
    • On the local side…(note where you put the file
    • Drag the 101requestor.dat file to the appropriate local directory
  • Launch Internet Explorer and log in to FAMIS Proper
  • Navigate to the appropriate form:

Requestors
SS Users
Employee
Misc Costs
Equipment/Assets

Requestors

 Navigate to the Requestor Information Form
(Quickpick under Maintenance Management Admin)
 Requestor Information
Launch Visual Studio VisualStudioJustLaunched
 From the File Menu, select the Open Project menu item VisualStudioOpenProjectMenu
 Navigate to FAMISLoader.sln by going to the Desktop in the FAMIS Loader folder, and opening the FAMISLoader folder. VisualStudoFileSelect
 The project is now ready to run. Click on the Start button. VSReady2Run
 This launches the FAMIS Loader form.  Hide the rest of Visual Studio. VSLoaderForm
Go back to the FAMIS Requestor List Form.  Ensure this window is MAXIMIZED on the monitor FAMISRequestorFormMaximized
Bring the Visual Studio FAMIS Loader form to the front LoaderFormOnTopFAMISRequestorForm
 Select the Requestor menu item on the Loader menu of the FAMIS Loader form LoaderMenuRequestorItem
Navigate to the settings folder in the FAMIS Loader project folder.  Select the APP_Settings_New.xml file APP_Settings_New_xmlfile
 The Requestor Loader is now launched.  The Select Environments tab will already be configured due to the selection of the xml file.  Naviage to the Select input file tab

 The loader the behaves best if the mouse is close to where it needs to be based on the xml instructions.  To minimize the chance of error, align the Run button on the Requestor Loader Application to be over the Requestor column header on the FAMIS Requestor List form LoaderFormReady2Run
 Click the Run button.  The Application window goes away and you need to click in the Yellow Requestor box on the Requestor List form WhereToClickFamisRequestorForm

 Navigate to the Self Service Applications Settings Form
(Self Service Security, third tab). 
Select the Applications Assigned to User Tab.

 Launch Visual Studio

Navigate to FAMISLoader.sln by going to the Desktop in the FAMIS Loader folder, and opening the FAMISLoader folder.   VisualStudoFileSelect

Select Either the “Load Employees” button or the “Inactivate Employees” button. EmployeeRunButtons
After slight pause, click on the Employee Form, this should bring up the window that displays “Please click OK to close this, then click on the Employee form“.  Follow those instructions (click on OK, then click on form).

If you are doing “Load Employees”, please continue with the steps below.

It is recommended to reposition the login page as seen in the next screen shot before logging in… LogIntoJSFpagesOKbutton

After logging in with NetID, Click on the OK button in the small window of the Loader. Then click on the form just under the first field… somewhere near Work Assignment label is good. LoggedIntoJSFReadytoClickOK

Misc Costs

 Preliminary Steps:

  1. When contacted to run this Loader, a spreadsheet will be attached in the email.  This spreadsheet should contain a single sheet with 8 columns (A-H).  Save this spreadsheet to Data folder.
  2. Arrange a Time for contact person to log into famis
Just prior to arranged time, Launch Famis Loader
From the File Menu, select the Open Project menu item VisualStudioOpenProjectMenu
Navigate to FAMISLoader.sln by going to the Desktop in the FAMIS Loader folder, and opening the FAMISLoader folder. VisualStudoFileSelect
The project is now ready to run. Click on the Start button VSReady2Run

Just prior to arranged time, using IE,  navigate web browser page to famis login page: Login
At arranged time, Contact person through Skype and share Desktop with them allowing them to log in with their NetID.
Either you or contact person then navigates to Miscellaneous Costs form in famis and Stop the Desktop Sharing  miscCostsForm
Bring the Visual Studio FAMIS Loader form to the front.

Select the Requestor menu item on the Loader menu of the FAMIS Loader form
