AIMCAD – User Profile Configuration

The following prerequisites apply to all user profile configurations.

Configure AutoCAD Support File Search Path & Trusted Locations

If using the ITS provided AutoCAD shortcut, this section can be skipped.  The automated script will create the needed entries.

1. Open AutoCAD
2. Open any drawing (or create a new drawing)
3. Click AutoCAD Menu
4. Click Options
5. Expand “Support File Search Path”
6. Click Add
7. Type: Q:\UPDC\AIMCAD

8. Expand “Trusted Locations”
9. Type: Q:\UPDC\AIMCAD
aimcad-configure-trusted-locations
10. Click OK

Update AutoCAD Shortcut

If using the ITS provided AutoCAD shortcut, this section can be skipped.  The automated script will create the needed entries.

1. Right-click on the AutoCAD desktop shortcut, choose Properties
2. Select the Shortcut tab
3. Replace the “Start In” value with “Q:\UPDC\AIMCAD\”
4. Click OK

Configure CAFM Ribbon

Step Description
1. If using the ITS provided AutoCAD shortcut, this step can be skipped.  The automated script will create the file in the above location.

Copy “Q:\UPDC\AIMCAD\CAFM.cuix” to “%APPDATA%/Autodesk/ACA 2016/enu/Support/”

2. Open AutoCAD using ITS provided shortcut (if available, otherwise US Imperial)
3. Click Start Drawing
4. In the command line area, type: menuload
5. Browse to the ribbon path and select local copy of CAFM.cuix
6. Click Load
7. Restart AutoCAD

Setting AiM Production Environment for Login

1.  Open AutoCAD
2.  Open any drawing (or create a new drawing)
3.  Select the CAFM ribbon
4.  Click Login
5.  Select “aimcad_prod”
6.  Select “STOR_PROD”
7.  Enter username and password
8.  Click Login

 

Note: By process, users should always launch AutoCAD from the ITS Provided desktop shortcut before opening Meridian or any CAD drawing.  Doing so, will insure the above shortcut and other IT scripts are executed properly.  Failure to do so, may result in error when using the AIMCAD (CAFM) ribbon.
